I love this old Inquisitor model - or is it a Chaos Champion? Honestly, I'm not sure, but I've kept this model for decades waiting to use him... then I screwed him up. I tried to give him height by modifying his legs and feet.
Since I'm not good at it, I totally screwed him up. I've been trying to figure out how to fix him. My worst attempt included a greenstuff cape... I shudder to think of it.
Anyway, I had an idea: instead of a fix beyond my limited skills, why not disguise the problem area?
Obviously, I added a bunch of skeletons, trying to create a thematic base, then just as obviously used arms to match the rest of the Brotherhood Terminators.
I'm pretty happy with the results. At this point, I've already started paint job. I'm keeping the Skeletons simple so they don't overwhelm the figure; it's a key element, but they take up a sizable amount of space.
Anyway, the Brotherhood proceeds on! I've already topped 2K models, but I haven't decided on the final build yet. It's a challenge - it's got to be able to hold its own against The Ruiner of Fun, Evil Homer's McDeldar and the Mighty Mighty Carlos' Descent of Decency Blood Angels.
Plus the other guys, all of whom are coordinating pretty great lists. I think it's safe to say, the local scene hasn't been this challenging for a long time.
It's pretty great, really.

It works.
No one will ever notice the problem area through that pile of corpses and body parts.
Plus, it give the model some nice character.
Skeletons for the Skeleton G-
Wait, that's not right.
The results look great. Can't wait to see some pics of the finished product when you get it painted.
Yep, that's an old inquisitor.

Looking good! Nice and menacing.
You could have gotten away with "I planned to do that the whole time! " It looks great
pretty sure thats an old RT inquisitor but love bringing back old minis. Even tho I didn't get into the hobby until the middle of 4th I still can't get enough of classics.
looks sharp man
This is what happens when you wait too long to shake....
I really like it man, the skeletons add to it, no need for a green stuff cape haha.
MM(esno): I'm shaking it at you right now, sir...
I've had luck with Castrol superclean degreaser for removing green stuff. I was using it to remove paint but the green stuff turns soft during the soak as well.
It takes a LONG time to remove everything though... the cost of being non toxic I suppose.
Nicely done! As another commenter said early, you could've gotten away with pretending that you planned this from the beginning. I too love taking old and/or broken models and fixing them up, best bit of the hobby for me. =D
