I'm busy with school work today, so while I'd like to write up the battle reports for the Warhammer Fantasy tournament I played in yesterday, I'll have to satisfy myself with a quick post.

Daniel (I can't think of a nickname off hand, though his wife is known locally as Preggers) is a relatively new hobbyist, having only played and painted for about two years, but he's constantly pushing himself to improve. Here is some freehand work he did on a Drop Pod. You can click on all these images for a closeup. |

Here he's started working on his Tyranids. |
I played Gauthic on Friday in a game of 40K, testing the Comp-Friendly version of my Daemons army.
|
Things went south for the Eldar quickly. Gauthic full-reserved his army then picked on the weak side at the bottom of two. In hindsight, he probably should have stayed in his ride and turbo-boosted on, but that's hindsight. He brought a significant amount of force against two units in my army but couldn't put them away... I was as surprised as he. Anyway, the counter-attack ultimately destroyed his chances. |

Here's a wide shot. You can see the army is swinging right to deal with the incursion. He picked the right side, it just didn't go well. Eldrad destroyed the Soul Grinder before being run down by the Fiends. |
Gauthic is putting the Eldar away, probably until the Codex is redone. I can't say I blame him. He's using what's considered an optimized build but it hasn't held up well, even against a Comp-Friendly build. Contrast that with Evil Homer destroying a Comp-Friendly Blood Angels army the week before with his Imperial Guard.
I think you see the point. I'll go into the subject in more detail Tuesday in my Bell article.

I played Little Barrera in Game 1 on Friday. |
Ah well - back to homework.

The freehand work is awesome, a little "cartoony" but a great attempt nonetheless.
