I finally figured out how to workaround the iMovie issue, so I'll finish up the video battle reports and get one up later today. Until then, here's a bit of nothing.

Did you have to convert your videos to another format? If I recall, Sony MPEG's aren't very compatible on the Mac side. I think you use a Sony Cybershot, which would explain a possible problem too.
I have this issue with the Church's Sony Camcorder.

After 17 seconds I had just given in and was waiting for it to end. Then came the LOL moment and you just about floored me.
