Quickie Orky Conversions...

So this week's Terrible Tuesday article covered spray paints, with next's week's planned to move on to air brushing.

Admittedly, with an air brush I'm still very much an amateur, but I'm learning!  Generally speaking, right now I'm using spray paints for priming, air brushes for basic paint coverage, and traditional brushes for detail work.  Much like learning any new skill, I'm taking a step back to take two forward.

Meaning I always worked pretty fast - but I expect to work much, much faster once I get up to speed!

More on that later.  And WarGames Con work proceeds apace.

Even so, I had time to effect a fairly quick conversion for Sam I Am and his Ork army, taking his Skorchas and changing them to Big Shootas.  I also couldn't resist adding some Orky Bitz!

Nice and Orky, and no confusion about what they are. MANZ, now there are some models that I wish would go to plastic! (I used to hope for finecast, but then the price would go up!)

Hey Brent! Long time lurker, first time poster!

I think that you should try some primer for your airbrush. Just looking at these pics, they look way better than I do at can priming, but you can see some defects in the close ups. Look at the last pic; on the left there is a little missing on the power claw, and on the right you've lost a little detail in one of the "exhaust holes" on the pipe. This is just nitpicking, they really do look good and I know you can fix them right up.

But, with some bottled primer... I think mine is Reaper (all I see on the bottle is MSP - Master Series Paint 09214) you can water that down a little and spray like a mad man from every angle. It takes a couple of coats, but they dry very fast. Obviously you dont want to spray so madly you let it pool, but you can just shoot air and smooth those spots out.

Like I said, your can skill is better than mine, but when I switched to airbrushing the primer, I was (sorry no pun intended) blown away by the difference!

(A new favorite!) Anon: I haven’t even bothered playing a game of 6th yet, cause I have read the rules, and actually understand how they interact with units. I know my armies no longer function how they should, and so I need to change them.
