I'm taking my Menoth, Amon Ad-Raza list against Gauthic's Striker Cygnar. It's fair to say this game went entirely may way... until it didn't.

Gauthic was feeling pretty crappy about his army until this. Then he's like, "Oh, that's how it works," and wins the tournament.

ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! it was just an epiphany oh the very basic game strategies. I had the mechanics & probabilities all figured out in minutes, but the game plays so differently than other war-games.
Yours was the only one I had a caster kill. I still feel ba about being so emotional over it.
Hahaha Im a newb and I know a Charger with a few focus points on it can be nasty.
ReplyDeleteBut this is a sort of mistake people that have experience in war gaming but are new to Warmahordes. Not being sure what can or cant smoke your caster and knowing how to see it coming.
Its sort of like chess- except no one tells you 'Check!' before they try to rape your caster. Its more like their inner maegalomaniac is rubbing thier hands together and doing their best 'MWAHAHAHHAHAHAhhaaa...hahahahaaha...ha....HA!'
But thats part of the fun of the game, constantly trying to figure out how to kill the other guys caster- balanced with trying to achieve any other objectives for the scenario.
I think that mighta been where ole' Amon went wrong- got too focused on taking & holding those circles and got surprised. Well, that- and them durty menites deserve to be shot :p
