Better Than Christmas!

I was going to talk about this in Part II of my two part article on Bell, about the nature of my collection and where I intend to take it, but there was a slight change of plans. With the Nova having been recently played - and won - by Tony K-Stands-For-Kill-You-And-Break-Your-Toys Kopach, I didn't want to wait a week to chat about the faux controversy.

Anyway, here are some pics of the gift box the Master Manipulator (every store needs one) brought to the store two Fridays ago.  He's downsizing - not sure if I should say why, but congrats (!) - and rather than mess with trading/selling everything in his collection, he's giving some of it away to friends, based on their interests.  Mine being the older range and models with mad character, plus my favorite Fantasy army is Beastmen, I received the following goodies...

The Brotherhood: RTB1 Missile Launcher Squad

The three Long Fang squads each sport different Missile Launchers; here's the heads and shoulders favorite...

OffTopical Podcast is on ITunes!

And getting mad hits in less than a week!

We've updated our Feedburner and created a Blogger Blog.  All 18 episodes of OffTopical Podcast have been added and 19 is going up soon, probably today.  The link on the right of Strictly Average will take you right to it.

Nova Open: 11th Company Coverage

As noted, I wasn't able to attend the Nova this year due to the 'needs of the hospital,' and while I'm disappointed, it's understandable given how many clinicians we're missing in the acute admissions unit.  I'm basically doing double duty right now...

Necrons: Entropic Strike, A Discussion

I'm a Bug in the Machine!
(This was going to be my comment on Bell's latest Necron's rumors post, but since it would probably just get lost I ported it over here.)

Comments Come Lately: Hate Mail

Here we are at another edition of Comments Come Lately, the Strictly Average production that seems to inevitably follow a Tuesday Bell of Lost Souls article.

My article this week was a hatchet job for Big Red.  What's that, you say?  Yup, you read it correctly.  Sometimes my job is to write an article designed to drive up the comment's count, and that's what Witch Hunter's Eulogy was.  Still, I wrote it, I like it, and it still strikes me as funny.

But yea, it wasn't hard to predict the Hate Mail.

MIssing the Nova: A Reflection

Well, it's official.  I had to email Mike Brandt and let him know that my leave for the event was revoked.  Here's my email:

Guess I'll unpack... :(

66 Points... Round 1 Down, 2 to Go

I won first place in my local 'Ard Boyz Regionals.

The Morning of 'Ard Boyz

It's 6:11am.  I have my first cup of coffee in hand, and for some reason I'm slightly worried I'm going to spill it on the MacBook Pro.

A Quickie! Blood Angel List.

Just a quick post before I head to the FLGS.  I took the next few days off for much needed downtime.

I've got my Daemons list turned in for this weekend's 'Ard Boyz, and I tested it against the Mighty Mighty Carlos last night.  Good to go.

The Card Pimp in Question isn't particularly hip on playing the old; he wants to try another army type, more indicative maybe of what he might face.

I threw this together:

'Ard Boyz... Yea, I Went With Daemons...

So after much ado, I went with Daemons.

I gave Quite Thor the chance to dictate the choice between the Brotherhood and the Bolt'N'Beasts, and though he wasn't able to reply he did say this after:

As to 'Ard Boys, I really hope you went for the Daemons. Last chance to use them. A eulogy of sorts.
Exactly right!

On Lists: Losing Sight of What Matters

Yesterday I published the Daemons list I intended to take to Hard Boyz next week.  Only problem is... it kinda sucked.
