Rereading the last bit of the post was slightly embarrassing.

"I was gracious in defeat... earning the judges' respect..." Doh! I'm making a lot of assumptions.

Adam, I do have that picture - I really enjoyed that army. Great board - I'll have to use the pic.Brenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07426628265866457542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4349292176380807894.post-54727750244500258852009-10-12T19:34:04.354-05:002009-10-12T19:34:04.354-05:00I played my 'Swords of the Prophet', my ow...I played my 'Swords of the Prophet', my own Blood Angels successor chapter. I was the guy with writing on the top of my rhinos, and chaos-y converted guys everywhere. The whole army was highlighted with orange/yellow everywhere, with a dark red base. Total of 5 rhinos, with 8 death company and 5 attack bikes... pretty much all I had. I think Aventine did a batrep on BoLS about our battle.

I had a display board that kinda got messed up after the first game, but when it was still intact, my guys had just finished killing off a village and the whole area was buring....Adam Trikenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4349292176380807894.post-21823152245294030912009-10-12T17:36:50.575-05:002009-10-12T17:36:50.575-05:00Actually Brent that game we watched was one of the...Actually Brent that game we watched was one of the most intense games we have sen before at the table. neither of you guys were problems by any means but that wasa game we wanted to go smooth and watch :DDarkwynnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4349292176380807894.post-173019307779482312009-10-12T15:26:15.880-05:002009-10-12T15:26:15.880-05:00Nope Fritz, nobody else. With MECH being king, it's hard to solve the problem of transport for a full squad.

I suspect the main reason Harlequins aren't seen more is the finesse they require. I've got some other thoughts, but let me give your question some thought before I answer it in full.

Adam, I actually don't know how I ranked at BOLSCON. My last game was an HQ vs HQ with Goatboy - a 'for the hell of it' kinda thing, so my overall results are skewed somewhat. I know I was in the top 25%, but I don't know where.

I know you started visiting this blog only recently, so you missed (being bored with) my long commentary on each game; since you were there, it might interest you. I haven't used labels, but I think I'll start setting it up given that I've actually started amassing content.

Which army were you? I may have a picture.

BrentBrenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07426628265866457542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4349292176380807894.post-68258731817255733072009-10-12T13:26:03.448-05:002009-10-12T13:26:03.448-05:00Brent, I'd like to hear some of your thoughts ...Brent, I'd like to hear some of your thoughts on the Harlequins in your army. Nobody plays them anymore and opponent's don't seem to know what to expect- for that reason I've been getting in more games with my clowns, but it is still a WIP and fine tuning tactics. Last three tourneys I played in, with BOLS being the third out of everybody the only guy playing harlequins was you. Didn't see anybody else at BOLS, did you?Ad Astrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17452877645311502806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4349292176380807894.post-16414130730634655272009-10-12T11:32:57.631-05:002009-10-12T11:32:57.631-05:00I played against Joe Cherry in my 2nd game at BoLS...I played against Joe Cherry in my 2nd game at BoLS Con. My experience was much the same as yours- he goes for the throat, and we ended up having a judge settle about 3 disputes. But, despite the fact that we were 'fighting' about the rules, the game stayed amiable and he ended up beating me, though somehow I got the secondary and tertiary, to stay near the top tables. He's a nice guy though, and we ended up talking a lot after our game. I'd for sure play him again.

How did you end up doing at BoLScon? I got 7th overall, after a very depressing defeat at the hands of Ben's orks in the final round.Adam Trikenoreply@blogger.com
