Afternoon Quickie: Projects Update

I've long admired Fritz's sturdy flying bases, so set about creating my own for the Necron Destroyers and Spyders.  Inside each tube is a magnet, allowing for a better hold during the game and easy storage after.
Here I've loaded three paint sticks with the metal Conclave / Henchmen models I've collected over the years.  I sprayed them black then zenithal'd with grey.  I spent the extra time to get an overall good coverage, but the paint sticks aren't perfect and some oddball spots underneath the models need touching up.
I took Jenn to see Giant at the Wylie in Dallas last week, and we hit the Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibit at the art museum the next day.  Naturally it rained, making the drive hellish and causing flooding throughout the Metroplex.
Anyway, my output is pretty good, all things considered, owed largely to discipline in finding time to work.  There's downtime on any trip, so I always lug along something to work on.

  1. If I lugged stuff to work on with me on overnight trips, the locals would be fighting for my stuff after the funeral.

  2. Your wife obviously doesn't take as long as mine getting ready in the morning!

I wake up much earlier than Jenn, leaving me plenty of free time to get some work in.

  3. I've recently put together a travel paint kit so I can get some painting done while away on business trips.

My job has been eating into my hobby time and its high time I reversed the trend!
