Unicorns Love Positive Comments!

So often my Comments Come Lately series has focused on the negative - trolling and such.  Here's a much more positive example...

In Tuesdays article I referenced the Unicorns backstory, which many of you know came about from my conversations with Jenn from Next Jenn - not to be confused with Jenn my wife Jenn, of course!

On Unicorns and the Holidays  ...if you're interested in the full story.

It's what ianlogsdon is referencing, his concern that the comments would include bigoted trolling.  I'm happy to report that didn't happen, which doesn't surprise me.

I think our community does inclusion really well.  I'm proud of you folks for that.

Then there's Cavalier, proof that adults can work out conflict and misunderstandings; when I pointed out where I was coming from he was man enough to admit his mistake.  I have mad respect for that, because we can all of us screw up but it takes a stud to recognize it!

  2. Unicorns also love when you talk about them, lol. Once again, thanks for all the support you show the LGBT community. The best thing I can think of to expand support for us is to get people thinking about the fact that we're normal people too, and enjoy totally geeky things like 40k like the rest of them. The fact that you bring it to the forefront is actually a positive for the community as a whole as far as making everyone see that it's ok to be ok with the gays.

  3. I always thought unicorns meant girls.

I appreciate the support for lgbt gamers too. For some reason we're the last group of people on earth that it's ok to be hateful and evil towards, etc. which is messed up. If these people knew how many lgbt people they meet and interact with every day things might be different.

  5. Kudos for the article, and your continued crusade to make people stop and think!

Its easy to spot the ones who find that to be a challenge- since theyre generally the ones spewing some sort of ignorance.

But, odds are you might have got through to some people- sparked them to think and open their minds to some things they may not have thought about before.

That might piss off the closed minded- because they don't like the reminders of thier ignorance :o

Keep up the good posts, write what you want- thats the joy of doing it as a hobby ^_^

  6. Thank you for being so supportive of the LGBT community. I worry as I am getting into this hobby/game that I will deal with discrimination, being trans myself. Then I look at people like you Brent, just a regular guy who plays 40k, and see how supportive you are and it makes me smile. I cannot thank you enough for your support, and the positive effect it has on those of us that are LGBT.

Keep doing what your doing, you are an awesome human being. Guess you really aren't just a regular guy like you have said before. Your a good person, and thank you.

  8. I've always found gamers to be generally accepting of alternate lifestyles (is that pc?). After all, we know what it is like to be targeted by the religious fanatics (though admittedly we've sorta fallen of their radar as of late.)

Be who you are and be proud of that. Haters gonna hate.

  9. I never thought I'd be the type of person to believe in unicorns.

Previously, I'd believe in tooth fairies, Santa elves, and that Nigerian prince who genuinely needs my help to import goods into our country--all well before I'd ever start to believe in unicorns.

But something changed my belief system.
