It's probably a good thing the Grey Knights will be a small, elite army - the price of an army will be up there.
I spent some time with the PDF a few days back, working out a list or three for fun... and is it a coincidence that everything on my shortlist is among the most expensive options?
Moving on...
For me there's much less to argue with in that model than we'd been led to expect.

ReplyDeleteI really dislike the model. The hammer seems a bit weed and it screams The Matrix mechs to me.

Because clearly terminators need armour.

The hammer does look a little small.
The ammo clip for the cannon looks small.
But I'm still going to full circle to "That looks awesome."
Yeah, I'm glad I am not one for the Imperium armies. Although the pretty blue power swords look pretty rockin, its a neat army, cant wait to face it.
ReplyDeleteSo GW all went to go see Terminator 4, and decided the Harvester was something they wanted Space Marines to wear, eh? And they barely changed the design. That's fail GW.
ReplyDeleteI'll save my money. I already have 3 GunHEDs, and they make excellent stand-ins. Plus, they're piloted by babes.
I really don't like that model. When weighing the storm raven v. dreadknight I think the Storm Chicken, Chunder Hawk, whatever wins.
ReplyDeleteThe look of the model isn't too bad... It feels a little Eldary just in how skinny the limbs feel. When I compare it to the brick (Stormraven)It just doesn't feel like it belongs in the same army.
ReplyDeleteThe design of the kit itself really bugs me. After building my share of Tau battlesuits over the past couple weeks I am especially irked by static limbs. I mean serious how hard would it have been to make it so you can actually bend this things arm's and legs? I understand that under the current design for the model it would actually be pretty hard because of the way the terminators legs are fixed and posed but if they were to alter the model to make it so that were a non-issue the pose-ability and inherent value of the model would be higher. That and I dont want to go to a tournament and see every dreadknight in every army have the exact same pose... Boring. I dunno, just my two cents.
it looks silly. end of story. weapons are completely unproportional to the body. go go scale feature in the modeling software. also, as the unit is rumored to be an MC.... why the heck does it appear to be a vehicle... really.. you make the GKs and GK termies really awesome looking and you produce this for the dreadknight... these are sad days...
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, when you consider what a Grey Knight will be battling, it actually makes sense... I could see that thing grappling with a Greater Demon or a Demon Prince, which is why it'd need to be a little more spry.
