Short and Sweet Daemons Update

So you probably know by now the FLGS is engaged in an army-build project, to recap: random roll then build to 2500, with tournaments on the way.  I rolled Daemons, thus the recent emphasis; hopefully you like it, we'll be referring to this all year long!

I've been asking for help along the way.  Here's the army Stelek recommended.

Mounted Herald of Slaneesh x4
Fiends x6 x3
Daemonettes x15 x2
Plague Bearers x7 x4
Fleshhounds x12 x3
Flightless DP's x3

The idea, of course, is torrent and overwhelm.  The Heralds can, if I'm not mistaken, join the fiends on the drop - an idea I love, but I missed the significance the first time I looked over this list.

I'm going to build in this general direction, but I'm giving myself some leeway for changes along the way, as I learn how to play the army.  Also, I'm not sold on the Fleshhounds... a poster wrote they weren't as effective in his list as he would have liked.  You can find that here, along with other assorted goodies.

Finally, here is a pic of a similar build: I snagged it just to keep me motivated.

  2. For once my color scheme will be pretty much out-of-the-book, with Khorne reds, Nurgle greens/browns, Slaneesh purples, and Tzeentch blues.

I'm giving my DP a lot of love; hopefully you'll like him - I'll be done in the next couple of days and will post him.

  3. The daemonette drider/fiends are a little inspiring..

I might do something similar for my Warp Beasts (use the spideys the gobby spidey riders from Skull Pass or something)...not that I'll be using them in 2500 points, but would be a neat little conversion.

Now I'll have to go dig in my bitz box and see if they'll work or not. I might also create some driders for my grotesques... since they are dark elves essentially.

  4. Thats the route I went with my fiends.

  5. It's hard not to feel sorry for you, but you'll have some pretty toys at the end, if nothing else. And Daemons play a different game, so you'll have a fun alternate army to play around with.

I can see you putting these on magnetic basing, ready to become a WFB superarmy...

  6. Man, JWolf - that's a loaded comment! Yes to both. I'm facing an uphill battle this year, and with the competition in my local store, much less the Texas scene, I'm not promising miracles.

But I've had the same thought about WFB - in fact, the Lone Wolf is on the horizon.

What's a good focus for Daemons? Tzeentch? Khorne? Do tell!

  7. Nobody plays that game anymore, remember.

  8. WFB Daemons? Everything in the book is good. You'll probably want some Flamers and a Bloodthirster, just to make sure everyone hates you.
